Job Description

The Histotechnician III will perform all routine and special paraffin histotechnology duties in a state-of-the-art CAP-certified pathology laboratory. Under the guidance of a Lead Histotechnologist, you will provide high-quality diagnostic material within established turnaround times.

Responsibilities

• Cut, stain, and perform tasks required to process tissue in the Immunohistochemistry Laboratory.
• Perform accurate gross description on tissue samples.
• Execute quality control procedures for each method and maintain accurate records.
• Operate all instruments and equipment according to written procedures, identifying and resolving any issues.
• Meet acceptable turnaround time and productivity standards for the section.
• Recognize testing errors or discrepancies, notify appropriate personnel, and assist in problem resolution.
• Record, transcribe, and maintain records of patient test results according to protocol.
• Assist in identifying and analyzing inconsistent and abnormal results.
• Review accuracy and completeness of results prior to releasing.
• Complete routine and STAT testing within acceptable turnaround time guidelines.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in histology, microtomy, grossing, processing, embedding, cutting, and routine special staining techniques.
• Knowledge of pathology, staining, and laboratory procedures.
• At least 1 year of experience in the field.
• ASCP HT or HTL certification preferred (OR must be eligible to sit for exam)

This is a Contract position based out of Milwaukee, WI.

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $38.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Milwaukee,WI.

This position is anticipated to close on Dec 24, 2025.
