ISP Technician 2

TEKsystems is actively searching for a skilled Cable Technician in Milwaukee! If you have at least two years of experience with cabling and termination, this could be the perfect role for you.

 Position: Cable Technician

Type: 6-month contract-to-hire

Location: Milwaukee, WI

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of experience with cabling and termination

Valid driver's license

Personal vehicle (no company vehicle provided)

 Additional Skills & Qualifications:

- Identify and prepare pathways and supports for new cabling system installation

- Pull copper, coaxial, and fiber optic cable in backbone, horizontal, and riser environments

- Terminate various brands of voice and data jacks (Hellerman-Tyton, Molex, Signamax, Panduit, Commscope, etc.)

- Terminate data cables on patch panels with proper dressing techniquess

- Test copper cable installations and perform basic troubleshooting

- Assist with testing fiber optic cables using power meter, light source (Fluke), OTDR tester, voltage meter, and other test equipment

- Build out data closets – install ladder racks, cable trays, data racks, and rack-mount equipment

- Read blueprints and identify cabling pathways, maintaining compliance with construction project specifications

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
