Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of mission-critical infrastructure within a data center. This role ensures the reliability, efficiency, and safety of systems such as power, cooling, and environmental controls, while leading a team of technicians and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Team Leadership & Supervision:
• Manage and mentor a team of technicians responsible for critical environment systems.
• Develop shift schedules and delegate tasks to ensure 24/7 coverage and operational continuity.
• Ensure compliance with training, safety, and operational standards
• Operations & Maintenance:
• Oversee the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems.
• Coordinate and execute routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs.
• Ensure minimal disruption during system changes or outages
• Client & Vendor Coordination:
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and contractors working within the facility.
• Ensure work quality and safety compliance during third-party activities
• Infrastructure Planning & Support:
• Assist in planning and executing server installations, upgrades, and infrastructure changes.
• Support disaster recovery testing and ensure readiness for emergency situations
• Reporting & Documentation:
• Maintain accurate records of system performance, incidents, and maintenance activities.
• Provide timely updates and reports to management and stakeholders.
Able to complete all tasks listed in the CE Tech Level 1 and Level 2 role description. Chiller method of procedure (MOP) − If the system is down to “N” level of redundancy. Chilled water pump MOP − If the system is down to “N” level of redundancy. Computer-room air handler (CRAH) MOP − If the system is down to “N” level of redundancy. Experience with building management systems (EPMS). Preferred: EPA Refrigerant License. Required: All candidates must hold an OSHA or OSHA-approved NFPA 70E Certification. Required: Experience with electrical systems in a high availability assembly / manufacturing / critical infrastructure environments such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related fields. Required: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Required: 5+ year(s) work/applied learning experience in technical fields (e.g. automotive, electrical, controls, data center). Required: Able to work a flexible work schedule which could include 12-hour shifts, rotating shifts, 3, 4, or 5 day work weeks. Qualifications:
• Proven experience in mission-critical environments (e.g., data centers, hospitals, manufacturing).
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with systems such as HVAC, UPS, generators, and BMS.
• Ability to lift and carry equipment, climb ladders, and respond to emergencies
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering, IT, or related field preferred.
