Job Title: Weld Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Weld Engineer to design and develop welding procedures and specifications. In this role, you will select appropriate welding techniques, equipment, and materials, ensuring high-quality and compliant welded components. You will collaborate with design, production, and quality teams, troubleshoot welding defects, and maintain documentation for traceability and regulatory compliance.


Responsibilities

  • Design and develop welding procedures and specifications.
  • Select appropriate welding techniques, equipment, and materials.
  • Inspect welded components for quality and compliance.
  • Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams.
  • Troubleshoot welding defects and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain documentation for traceability and regulatory compliance.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in welding processes such as MIG, TIG, SMAW, and FCAW.
  • Strong understanding of metallurgy and CAD tools.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding engineering.
  • Familiarity with AWS standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) or CWEng (Certified Welding Engineer) are highly valued.

Work Environment

The position is based in New Berlin, with an additional office on-site at a facility in Waukesha. The work environment involves collaboration with various teams to ensure high-quality welding standards are met.
