Job Description
This role focuses on operating and supporting surface-mount technology (SMT) production lines for electronic assemblies. You will set up and run SMT machines, prepare materials, and help ensure that high-quality electronic assemblies are produced efficiently and accurately for a wide range of end products and industries.
Responsibilities
- Set up feeder tables for use in SMT machines according to production requirements and work instructions.
- Perform kitting activities by gathering, organizing, and preparing components and materials needed for SMT production runs.
- Operate SMT machines and related equipment to assemble electronic components onto printed circuit boards.
- Monitor SMT production processes to maintain quality, identify issues, and make basic adjustments to equipment as needed.
- Handle and assemble electronic components using surface-mount technology in a careful and precise manner.
- Use basic soldering techniques as required to support SMT and electronic assembly tasks.
- Follow safety procedures and quality standards while working with electronic assemblies and machinery.
- Use computer systems, including MS Office, to access work instructions, record production information, and support daily tasks.
- Lift and move materials and components, up to 25 lbs, as part of daily production activities.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience working with SMT (surface-mount technology) in an electronic assembly or manufacturing environment.
- Practical experience running or operating SMT machines and related production equipment.
- Ability to perform SMT-related assembly tasks, including handling and placing electronic components.
- Basic soldering skills applicable to electronic assembly work.
- General knowledge of electronic assembly processes and surface-mount technology.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as part of daily job duties.
- Computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office applications.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to quality and safety procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with electronic assembly in a contract manufacturing or similar production environment.
- In working with surface-mount technology for a variety of products and industries.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with small components and precise setups.
- Strong organizational skills to manage kitting, materials, and feeder setups efficiently.
- Willingness to learn additional equipment and processes within the electronic assembly area.

Work Environment
This position operates within an electronic manufacturing facility focused on building electrical and electronic assemblies using SMT and related technologies. You will work with SMT machines, feeder tables, and other electronic assembly equipment, along with computer systems that use MS Office. The role is scheduled on a weekday shift structure, with operations noted on a 1st shift from Monday to Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., including a 30-minute unpaid lunch, and additional operations occurring on a 2nd shift from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The environment is production-oriented, requiring time on your feet, handling components and materials up to 25 lbs, and following safety and quality procedures appropriate for electronic manufacturing.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.50 - $20.50/hr.
