Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician II

Job Description

As a Quality Assurance Technician II, you will perform visual, dimensional, electrical, and mechanical inspections on materials, assemblies, and sub-assemblies using precision measuring tools. Your role will involve calibrating torque tools and manual inspection equipment, as well as reading and interpreting blueprints, welding symbols, and engineering drawings to verify manufacturing accuracy. You will use math and analysis to identify why products do not meet standards and recommend drawing changes for clarity or simplicity. Additionally, you will assess the severity of product issues and decide on the disposition of purchased items, work-in-progress, and finished goods. You will learn and conduct full inspection layouts, coordinate with suppliers regarding inspection processes, and provide backup support to other technicians as needed.



Responsibilities

  • Perform visual, dimensional, electrical, and mechanical inspections using precision measuring tools.
  • Calibrate torque tools and manual inspection equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and engineering drawings.
  • Identify product discrepancies and recommend drawing changes.
  • Assess product issues and determine the disposition of items.
  • Conduct full inspection layouts and coordinate with suppliers.
  • Provide backup support to other technicians.


Essential Skills

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in quality inspection and use of torque tools.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards.


Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school equivalent required.
  • Technical certificate or associate degree is a plus.
  • 2 years of inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with gage calibration and product non-conformance systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing is preferred.
  • Experience with CMM programming preferred but not necessary.


Work Environment

This role operates within a modern production facility equipped with heat and air conditioning. The position requires regular movement, sitting, standing, and the use of hands for handling and reaching above shoulders. Communication skills are essential. The employee will operate a pallet jack, hoist, and hand tools. Regular lifting of up to 25 pounds is required, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, with assistance for heavier weights.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.
