Histology Technician/Technologist


Job Description

Perform routine and special procedures on patients’ tissue specimens in preparation for pathological examination.


Responsibilities

  • Perform testing and interpret and verify results.
  • Adjust to fluctuating workloads.
  • Perform quality control procedures and documentation.
  • Execute corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Document out-of-control situations providing details, results, and corrective actions taken.
  • Follow procedures and perform and document instrument maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Active ASCP HT or HTL Certification
  • Alternatively if an individual is not ASCP certified they must be eligible for certification in order to be considered and have at minimum one full-time year of acceptable experience in a histopathology laboratory including experience in tissue fixation, embedding/microtomy, tissue processing, staining, and laboratory operations. (If not certified at the time of hire, must obtain certification within a year of hire)

Work Environment

This role operates within a histology laboratory setting.

Monday through Friday, No weekend requirement!


Please note:

Hours worked between 3pm and 11pm will include a 2nd shift differential of $2.50/hour.

Hours worked between 11pm and 7am will include a 3rd shift differential of $3.50/hour.


In addition at $8,000 sign-on bonus is provided!
