Job Title: Assembly TechnicianJob DescriptionAs an Assembly Technician, you will consistently perform assembly and initial testing of new products and sub-assemblies with a focus on speed and quality. You will work with established methods, schematics, and procedures to assemble and test products, while maintaining exemplary quality standards. Effective communication with assembly personnel, department leads, manufacturing management, and other parties will be a key part of your role.Responsibilities<ul><li>Assemble and test products per established methods, schematics, and procedures.</li><li>Effectively communicate product and departmental issues between assembly personnel, department leads, manufacturing management, and other interested parties.</li><li>Communicate with other technicians regarding methods and best practices.</li><li>Work with production planning personnel regarding work in process, answering questions, explaining problems, solutions, and expected completion times.</li><li>Proactively communicate with other individuals and departments on assembly-related issues.</li><li>Use all necessary tools for any potential job and possess expertise in various electronic and mechanical systems.</li><li>Be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.</li><li>Perform a variety of complicated tasks with limited supervision and oversight.</li><li>Assemble electronic and electro/mechanical equipment, including soldering and programming electronic devices.</li><li>Perform work requiring thorough knowledge of electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles.</li><li>Proficiently use a personal computer, including Microsoft Windows and Office Suite.</li><li>Inform appropriate management and technicians of potential product problems and suggest corrective actions.</li><li>Plan and accomplish goals relying on experience and judgment.</li><li>Maintain company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.</li><li>Report product and process improvement suggestions to manufacturing engineering.</li><li>Ensure adherence to personal safety and ESD prevention protocols in the Assembly Shop.</li><li>Work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.</li><li>Maintain a high sense of integrity and confidentiality regarding product and trade secrets.</li></ul>Essential Skills<ul><li>Experience with soldering, electromechanical assembly, mechanical assembly, and electrical assembly.</li><li>Proficiency in epoxy application, reading blueprints, and PCB programming.</li><li>Ability to use hand and power tools.</li><li>Experience with small part electromechanical assembly.</li><li>Ability to read and understand technical drawings and wiring diagrams.</li></ul>Additional Skills &amp; Qualifications<ul><li>Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or equivalent experience in a technical field.</li><li>Three years of proven experience in electronics and/or electro/mechanical fields.</li><li>Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.</li><li>Effective written and oral communication skills.</li><li>Ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks regularly.</li><li>Thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment, including diagnostic instrument use preferred.</li><li>Hands-on aptitude, self-directed, and able to work independently.</li><li>Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement experience preferred.</li><li>Equipment maintenance experience preferred.</li><li>PCB programming experience preferred.</li></ul>Why Work Here?Employees enjoy unparalleled health benefits, including a PPO plan with no deductibles and no co-pays.
