Maintenance Technician (ENTRY LEVEL)

RESPONSIBILITIES: Works as part of the production crew with a main focus on preparing the machine for the production run, according to the customer order. Prepares the stencil that stamps the product with identification. Cleans and oils the machine daily. Orders pallets from the Forklift Driver, according to the need expressed on the schedule. Responsible for having pallets at the machine for the finished products. Assists with running orders when the machine is ready by watching the run continue smoothly and without problem. If a problem arises, such as machine failure, product quality is not to standard, or a shortage of paper, this individual notifies the operator of the problem. May need to work with management, maintenance, and other company employees to fix the problem. Palletizes the product according to the shop card and/or in a manner suitable for shipping. May be required to feed the machine on occasion. Responsible for adhering to the ISO procedures and taking direction from the operator. Works with various production machines and basic tools such as hammer and knife. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: High School Graduate or GED. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, such as schedules and orders. Must be willing to work EVERY shift, including overtime on short notice and weekends Ability to work in manufacturing environment, with varying temperatures based on season, around machinery, and heavy Forklift traffic. Central Transfer & Recycle Center (CRC), a Waste Connections company, is looking to hire a highly motivated & safety driven, Heavy Equipment Operator, to work at our Transfer Station in Vancouver, WA. Pay range is $28-$29/HR DOE Schedule will be: 10:00 AM to Close (6:30 PM or 7:30 PM) : Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM : Saturday & Sunday Safety Sensitive: Yes Qualified candidates must have 938 CAT Loader, 308 CAT Excavator, Forklift, Backhoe, Yard Truck and 53ft chassis/ Trailer experience. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>REQUIRES ability to efficiently & safely operate 938 CAT Loader, 308 CAT Excavator, Forklift, Backhoe, Yard Truck and 53ft chassis/ Trailer experience.</li><li>Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires.</li><li>Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.</li><li>Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.</li><li>Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.</li></ul>WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:<ul><li>Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.</li><li>Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.</li><li>Ability to operate heavy equipment is required.</li><li>Knowledge of basic computer skills.</li><li>Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance.</li><li>Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels.</li><li>Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.</li></ul> MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>Minimum 500-hours of Heavy Equipment Operating experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.</li><li>Heavy Equipment Operating certification from an accredited trade school preferred .</li><li>Basic knowledge of computer skills.</li><li>Pre-employment requirements for this safety sensitive position include drug panel screening, motor vehicle report, & criminal background check.</li></ul>To be considered for any of our current openings you must complete an application at www.wasteconnections.com .
