The Manager, Contractor Network Development manages the overall development and sustainment of Motili's contractor network through recruitment, vetting, marketing to, and on-boarding of contractors. The Manager, Contractor Network Development is responsible for maintaining the overall business relationship with Motili contractors. Position Responsibilities may include: <ul> <li>Establish continuous improvement goals and execute action plans. </li> <li>Utilize proven lean manufacturing abilities to identify opportunities for cost reduction, increased quality, workflow improvements, estimating, project analysis, technology development and core manufacturing skill set. </li> <li>Support DOE (Design of experiments), 8D (Eight Disciplines of team-oriented problem-solving), FMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis), and implementation of Kaizen activities. </li> <li>Work with Design Engineers to revise and sustain HVAC product machines along with tooling designs utilizing knowledge of mechanical engineering principles. </li> <li>Provide manufacturing technical support to Design Project teams. </li> <li>Document product designs by preparing cost analyses, review drawings and engineering change requests. </li> <li>Assist in redesigning internal components to improve overall long-term system quality, improve efficiency, and reduce cost. </li> <li>Support on developing engineering solutions to product related issues through problem solving and root cause analysis techniques. </li> <li>Participate on cross functional teams to launch product/assembly line modifications, resolve issues, and support product improvements. </li> <li>Defines, plans and promotes activities including project work while managing the process and its evolution. </li> <li>Represents team within the organization. </li> <li>Coordinate project work internally with the department and externally with other departments to ensure on-time completion of projects within budget. </li> <li>Develop and manage project schedules related to existing product/assembly line launches or design modifications. </li> <li>Develop suppliers for manufacturing equipment, develop key suppliers, create an environment of continuous improvement in equipment UPTIME, EFFICIENCY & QUALITY. </li> <li>Provide guidance to technicians and support staff. </li> <li>Participate in additional projects to support ongoing business needs and day to day issues. </li> <li>Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs. </li> </ul>Nature & Scope:<ul> <li>Applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. </li> <li>Encouraged to seek continuous improvements. </li> <li>Performs a range of mainly straightforward assignments. </li> <li>Works independently with general supervision. </li> <li>Problems faced are difficult but not typically complex. </li> </ul>Knowledge & Skills:<ul> <li>Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of manufacturing engineering theory, processes, and practice. </li> <li>Lean manufacturing concepts: Kaizen, value stream mapping, Kanban, demand flow technology, line balancing & time studies. </li> <li>Experience fabrication/stamping of aluminum or steel parts, tooling, molding, finishing, tubing fabrication, paint, assembly/manufacturing processes, and/or controls is strongly preferred. </li> <li>Knowledge of specifications and standards used in the HVAC industry is strongly preferred. </li> <li>Experience with PFMEAs, Process Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, DFA/DFM, and operator instructions, engineering change processes. </li> <li>Proven capability to handle multiple projects and capable to coach technicians and others on the proper manufacturing core skills. </li> <li>Software skills including MS Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Mapics. </li> <li>Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. </li> <li>Effective organizational and time management skills. </li> <li>Ability to guide and mentor less experienced PEs and PE Technicians. </li> <li>Knows a complete process and the alternate methods of the process. Understands the product and how it functions. </li> <li>Excellent written and verbal skills. Position Responsibilities May Include: &bull; Assisting with dispatching a team of Field Service Technicians &bull; Maintaining consistent communication on current status with the Field Service Technicians, Customers, Vendors, and other office staff &bull; Assisting with Electrical Drawings and Project requirements &bull; Work with Sales Professionals to book jobs, order and track applicable parts to include communication of status of job. &bull; Enter, update and maintain the required information into the work order system.
