<p>Performs a variety of duties required in pharmacy operations and assists the pharmacists in the accomplishment of their duties. Under the supervision of the professional staff, accomplishes competent, efficient and timely performance of assignments within the structure of the Pharmacy Department</p>

<p><strong>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE</strong></p>

<p>Graduation from high school/GED required or equivalent experience is required. Current pharmacy technician licensure from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy is required. Four or more years of experience as a registered pharmacy technician (RPhT) is required. Pharmacy technician must meet career ladder requirements, as per designated work location. College or commercial school courses in basic sciences, mathematics, business or other related areas and/or completion of technician training program is preferred. The Pharmacist Intern is an entry-level position and duties are designed to support meeting the departmental mission. Interns will develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities to safely, efficiently, and effectively provide pharmaceutical care for neonatal through adult patients in accordance with all regulatory agencies, including but not limited to The Joint Commission (TJC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Medicare/Medicaid standards and Texas State Board of Pharmacy Rules and Regulations. A pharmacist intern may perform any duty of a pharmacist under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. The pharmacist intern may perform all of the duties of a pharmacy technician. The pharmacist intern is an integral part of the care team, assisting the pharmacists and other health care providers in delivering safe and high quality pharmaceutical care to all patients within the health system.</p>

<p><strong>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE</strong><br>
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Must be currently enrolled in a Doctor of Pharmacy program from an accredited College of Pharmacy. Two or more years’ experience as a Registered Pharmacy Technician is preferred. Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet computer programs is preferred.</p>
