Job Title: Geotechnical Engineering TechnicianJob DescriptionAs a Geotechnical Engineering Technician, you will perform subsurface exploration duties using conventional drilling or in-situ testing techniques. This role involves various forms of drilling such as auger drilling, mud rotary drilling, air rotary, and diamond bit coring techniques. You will also work with in-situ testing techniques including cone penetration testing (CPT) and seismic cone penetration testing equipment, as well as pressure meters and other related apparatus. <h1 style="text-align:center;">Hydrologic and Hydraulic Modeler (Hybrid) – Stormwater, Drainage, Floodplain Modeling</h1>We are hiring an experienced Hydrologic and Hydraulic Modeler to support water resources, stormwater, drainage, and floodplain projects. This role is ideal for candidates with strong modeling skills using HEC‑HMS, HEC‑RAS (1D/2D), SWMM, or similar hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software.This is a hybrid position (3 days in office) with a well‑established company known for its strong engineering teams and nationwide project portfolio.<hr><h2>Job Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for stormwater, drainage, watershed, and floodplain studies.</li><li>Develop, run, and calibrate models using HEC‑HMS, HEC‑RAS (1D/2D), SWMM, or equivalent tools.</li><li>Analyze rainfall/runoff, hydraulic capacity, flood impacts, and system performance under different scenarios.</li><li>Prepare technical reports, calculations, exhibits, and modeling documentation for design and permitting.</li><li>Support planning and design efforts for infrastructure, transportation, and water resources projects.</li><li>Collaborate with engineers, planners, and project teams to incorporate modeling results into project designs.</li><li>Assist with agency coordination and responses to regulatory comments.</li><li>Maintain organized model files following QA/QC requirements.</li></ul><hr><h2>Required Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related water‑resources discipline.</li><li>5+ years of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling experience (stormwater, drainage, floodplain, watershed).</li><li>Proficiency with HEC‑HMS, HEC‑RAS (1D/2D), SWMM, or similar modeling software.</li><li>Experience preparing technical analyses, modeling reports, and permit documentation.</li><li>Knowledge of local, state, and federal water resource regulations.</li><li>Experience with Civil 3D, CAD, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.</li><li>EIT or PE certification is a plus.</li></ul><hr><h2>Preferred Skills</h2><ul><li>Experience in civil design, grading, drainage design, stormwater management, or site development.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.</li><li>Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines.</li></ul><hr><h2>Work Environment</h2><ul><li>Hybrid schedule – three days per week in the office.</li><li>Work for a large, well‑known engineering company with 20,000+ employees and significant opportunities for career advancement.</li><li>Supportive team culture with mentorship, professional development, and long‑term growth pathways.</li></ul>Job Type &amp; LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
