Description The Radiation Oncology/Brachytherapy NP functions in an interdependent role by implementing the appropriate Standardized Procedures (SPs). By using the SPs, the NP is able to change treatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior, and physical condition and determines if they are abnormal findings (Ca Nursing Practice Act, subsection (b) of Section 2725). In collaboration with the supervising physician, attending physicians, fellows, and residents, the NP is responsible for providing independent clinical assessment and patient care management services for patients in the Radiation Oncology Department. The NP will provide and coordinate the care of patients, provide patient/family education, promote safe continuity of care. The NP also participates in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, tumor boards, and provides education and support, as well as makes appropriate referrals. Document services rendered. Description The staff RN is a professional caregiver who provides pre-operative evaluation and medical screening of patients having anesthesia for a surgery or procedure, by reviewing and evaluating internal and external medical and other relevant documents, and conducting a pre-operative phone interview (or on-site clinical review) of the patient.
