 Responsibilities
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plans, coordinates, provides and manages nursing care services and health education to nursing home guests.
<ul>
<li>Supervise the care/services provided by Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA)/State-Tested Nursing Assistants (STNA) and other team members who care for guests.</li>
<li>Provide safe and accurate medication-related interventions to guests.</li>
<li>Assess the health of guests and notify the physician of changes in status. Promptly implement new orders.</li>
<li>Select and institute appropriate nursing interventions to stabilize a guest’s condition and/or prevent complications.</li>
<li>Contribute to the guest’s assessment (MDS/CAA’s) and the development of a plan of care.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications
<ul>
<li>1-3 years of experience in a long-term care setting preferred</li>
<li>Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure in the state</li>
<li>CPR certification</li>

<li> Initiates, monitors and maintains life support systems.</li>
<li> Monitors outcomes of various respiratory care procedures.</li>
<li> Establishes and maintains respiratory equipment par-level and required maintenance records.</li>
<li>Troubleshoots equipment malfunction.</li>
<li>Conducts quality assurance audits.</li>
<li>Conducts quality control monitoring. Provides routine clinical care, including ventilator checks, tracheostomy care, suctioning, resident evaluations, care plan development, respiratory medication delivery, supply changes, and equipment management.</li>

Requirements:

<li>Must be a certified Respiratory Therapist.</li>

What you’ll be doing
<ul>
<li>Supervise the care/services provided by the LPNs, Certified Nursing Assistants and other team members who care for  the residents</li>

Education and/or Experience:

<li>ADN or BSN</li>
<li>Demonstrates knowledge of basic nursing practice with an interest in gerontological nursing.</li>
<li>Prefer 2 years’ experience in a long term care setting.</li>
<li>One year vent experience</li>
</ul>
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
<ul>
<li>Must have a current state license to practice as a registered nurse (RN) </li>
<li> Current CPR certification</li>
<li>Additional certification in nursing specialty desired.</li>
