<li>Assesses and evaluates the systems which facilitate the delivery of quality Resident care and performance of staff</li>
<li>Uses a systematic approach in the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care.</li>
<li>Contributes to the Resident’s assessment (MDS/CAA’s) and the development of a plane of care.</li>
<li>Develops a plan of care based on assessment, implementing nursing care.</li>
<li>Evaluates the Resident’s responses to nursing interventions.</li>
<li>Knows the rational for the effect of medications and treatments and correctly administer same </li>
</ul>
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

<li>Current state license to practice as a nurse., RN</li>
<li>Current CPR certification and additional certification in nursing specialty desired.</li>

Responsibilities
Some of the responsibilities of the Staff Development Coordinator include:

<li>Designs, plans and provides educational programs on all shifts and for all departments.</li>
<li>Participates in the staff evaluation process by providing attendance records and observation of employee performance.</li>
<li>Provides general facility orientation to all new employees and ongoing in-service education.</li>
<li>Plans and provides a monthly and annual schedule of planned education programs.</li>
<li>Ensures Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA)/State Tested Nursing Assistants (STNA) meet the annual 12-hour in-service requirement.</li>
<li>Actively participates in quality assurance and reports concerns to supervisor.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications

<li>1-3 years of experience in long-term care setting preferred</li>
<li>Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state</li>
<li>CPR certification</li>
</ul>
