Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Zeiss CMM Operator/Programmer to support precision inspection and quality assurance activities. This role is responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to ensure manufactured parts meet all engineering and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Program and operate Zeiss CMMs using Calypso software
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections
- Develop and optimize CMM programs for repeatability and efficiency
- Analyze inspection results and clearly document findings
- Calibrate and verify CMM performance per quality standards
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams
- Identify nonconformances and support root cause and corrective actions
- Maintain inspection records in accordance with AS9100 / ISO standards
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience operating and programming Zeiss CMMs
- Proficiency with Zeiss Calypso software
- Strong understanding of GD&T
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and CAD models
- Experience inspecting tight-tolerance, complex machined parts
- Solid computer skills and inspection documentation experience
- High attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Aerospace or Defense manufacturing
- Knowledge of AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems
- Experience working with large or complex assemblies
- PC-DMIS or CAD experience (NX, SolidWorks, CATIA a plus)
- Associate degree or technical certification in Metrology or Manufacturing
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs as required

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Athens, AL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $42.00/hr.
