Job Description
This role is for an experienced CNC machinist on 2nd shift, working four 10-hour shifts from Monday to Thursday. You will operate and set up GROB CNC machines running Siemens controls, ensuring high-quality, precise components are produced safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor GROB CNC machines equipped with Siemens controls to produce precision parts according to specifications.
- Interpret and work from engineering blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to determine machining requirements.
- Select, install, and adjust tooling and fixtures to achieve required dimensions and surface finishes.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to inspect parts and verify dimensional accuracy.
- Perform in-process inspections and make necessary offsets or adjustments to maintain quality and tolerance requirements.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas, following all safety procedures and shop standards.
- Troubleshoot basic machine and process issues, reporting more complex problems to appropriate personnel.
- Document work performed, including production counts and inspection results, in accordance with shop procedures.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and continuously improve processes.
- At least 3 years of machining experience in a production or job shop environment.
- Hands-on experience with CNC machining operations, including setup and operation.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience operating CNC machines, preferably GROB machines or similar equipment.
- Familiarity with Siemens CNC controls or comparable control systems.
- Proficiency using precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work consistently on 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday, 6:30 pm to 4:30 am.
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively within a shop environment.
- Background as a machinist with experience in both setup and production machining.
- Previous experience in a CNC machining environment using modern equipment.
- Comfort participating in an on-site interview and practical evaluation in a machine shop setting.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to specific processes and standards used in the facility.
