Job Description
This role maintains and repairs a diverse fleet of vehicles and material handling equipment, ensuring they operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will perform preventive maintenance, advanced diagnostics, and complex mechanical repairs on a wide range of equipment while keeping accurate service records and supporting field service needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on all fleet equipment, including automobiles, light- and heavy-duty trucks, vans, forklifts, and material handling equipment.
- Conduct advanced diagnostics across multiple OEM platforms, including Volvo, International, Freightliner, Maxon, electrical vehicles, and other material handling equipment.
- Carry out high-level repairs such as engine and driveline work, after-treatment and emissions system repairs, and safety system repairs.
- Diagnose vehicle failures, disassemble components, repair or replace parts, and reassemble systems to restore safe and reliable operation.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair brake systems, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical components as needed.
- Perform routine and scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to minimize breakdowns and extend equipment life.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records, including vehicle service records, pre-trip checklists, and repair logs.
- Respond to and answer service calls, providing timely support for equipment issues in the shop and in the field.
- Use diagnostic tools, mechanical knowledge, and troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes of equipment issues.
- Follow safety procedures and best practices while working under vehicles, using tools and equipment, and handling parts and materials.
- Hands-on experience with diesel engines and diesel-powered equipment.
- Proficiency in mechanical repair, including engines, drivelines, brakes, and safety systems.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance and fleet maintenance on a variety of vehicles and equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across multiple OEM platforms such as Volvo, International, Freightliner, Maxon, and electrical vehicles.
- Ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic systems and related components.
- Ability to lift more than 50 pounds and work in tight spaces safely and effectively.
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and off-shifts as needed.
- Experience working under trucks for extended shifts of 8–12 hours.
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and service records.
- Capability to answer and respond to service calls in a timely and professional manner.
- Own basic set of mechanic tools suitable for diesel and mechanical repair work.
- Familiarity with material handling equipment and forklifts.
- Comfort working with electrical vehicles and modern vehicle electronics.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a small, tight-knit team environment.

Work Environment
This position operates in a two-bay shop that is not climate controlled, so you will work in varying temperatures throughout the year. The schedule runs Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. You will be part of a small, tight-knit team that collaborates closely to support each other and keep the fleet running reliably. The role involves working under trucks and around heavy equipment for extended periods, using your own basic tools along with company-provided technology such as an iPad and iPhone. Uniforms, personal protective equipment, and a work boot allowance are provided to support safety and comfort on the job.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maumelle, AR.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.85 - $30.85/hr.
