Job Title: EHS Technician
Job Description
The EHS Technician supports environmental, health, and safety programs on site by conducting audits, maintaining safety records, assisting with incident investigations, and promoting a strong safety culture in a cleanroom manufacturing environment. This role combines hands-on field work with administrative and analytical tasks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards while partnering closely with engineers and other employees.
Responsibilities
- Manage and update the Daily 6S Safety Audit Log, monitoring, correcting, and tracking issues until they are fully closed, and identifying follow-up corrective actions to resolve audit findings.
- Maintain accurate EHS records and analyze data using Microsoft Excel, and edit and present high-quality presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Utilize Outlook and Microsoft Teams for communication, calendar management, and scheduling meetings to support EHS activities.
- Provide weekly activity reports to EHS leadership and participate in Safety Committee Meetings and Safety Walks on a monthly basis or as needed.
- Support the Emergency Action Plan and related emergency response activities as scheduled.
- Perform compliance and system audits to assess project adherence to applicable health, safety, and environmental regulatory requirements, internal standards, and management systems.
- Assist EHS personnel with near miss and incident investigation processes when requested, contributing to root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Verify proper use of Dräger equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensure barricades, signage, and safety shark cages are organized, secure, and stocked with required supplies.
- Act as a safety advocate for engineers, escalating safety issues and providing improvement ideas and feedback to the Site EHS Specialist on a weekly basis.
- Support efforts to improve safety performance by providing training, field coaching, and targeted EHS assessments.
- Support and execute EHS compliance procedures, plans, permits, and reports in alignment with regulatory and internal requirements.
- Build strong collaborative relationships with customers, internal engineers, and employees to promote a proactive safety culture.
- Work in a cleanroom environment for the majority of each 12-hour shift, adhering to gowning and PPE requirements and maintaining strict contamination control.
- Adhere to physical requirements of the role, including lifting and moving up to 50 pounds, working at heights using ladders and MEWPs, and working in confined spaces when needed.
- Follow shift schedules, including front-end and back-end day and night shifts, and be willing to work overtime when requested.
- Participate in travel to different sites when needed, complying with travel procedures and collaborating with other team members while on assignment.
Essential Skills
- 1 to 3 years of experience providing EHS support with an emphasis on health and safety.
- Experience supporting implementation of OSHA requirements, Standard Operating Procedures, 5S plus Safety programs, oversight of high-risk tasks, and Emergency Response Plans.
- Familiarity with manufacturing safety requirements, including equipment safety and process safety in industrial or cleanroom environments.
- Knowledge of waste management practices, including hazardous, non-hazardous, universal, and electronic waste handling and compliance.
- Understanding of chemical safety requirements and safe handling procedures.
- Familiarity with 5S safety methods and continuous improvement principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft programs, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
- OSHA 30 certification or a strong willingness to obtain it as a condition of employment.
- Demonstrated understanding of regulatory compliance and reporting processes related to environmental, health, and safety.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Ability and willingness to wear a Tyvek suit and other required protective gear in controlled environments.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts and spend approximately 8 hours per shift in a cleanroom environment.
- Comfort working at height using ladders and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs).
- Comfort working in confined spaces when required.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Ability to sit, walk, talk, hear, use hands to keyboard and handle materials, and to stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch as part of routine duties.
- Willingness to work overtime when requested to support operational and project needs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma required; a bachelor’s degree is considered a plus.
- Experience with 6S or similar workplace organization and safety audit systems.
- Experience conducting EHS audits and inspections in manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Experience providing safety training, field coaching, and targeted EHS assessments.
- Strong administrative skills, including recordkeeping, data analysis, and documentation.
- Strong communication skills for preparing reports and delivering presentations to various stakeholders.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with engineers, technicians, and other employees.
- Ability to adhere to gowning requirements and wear cleanroom attire for extended periods.
- Willingness to disclose medical implants that may be affected by high magnetic fields due to the nature of the work environment, so that appropriate safety accommodations can be considered.
- Willingness to travel to different sites when needed, including working in new environments and coordinating with different teams.
- Comfort sharing transportation with colleagues during travel assignments while maintaining professionalism and teamwork.

Work Environment
You work primarily in a cleanroom environment at advanced manufacturing facilities, spending most of each 12-hour shift in controlled areas that require full gowning and strict adherence to contamination control procedures. Standard protective gear includes cleanroom attire and a Tyvek suit, along with appropriate PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and other equipment depending on the task. The environment may involve exposure to high magnetic fields, and work can include tasks at height using ladders or MEWPs and occasional work in confined spaces. The role follows a compressed workweek schedule with four openings across front-end and back-end day and night shifts. Example schedules include front-end shifts on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and rotating Wednesday, and back-end shifts on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and rotating Wednesday. Day shifts run from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and night shifts run from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Travel to different sites may be required, during which you receive a daily per diem, a private hotel room, and shared use of a rental vehicle with team members. The work environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, teamwork, and adherence to established procedures and gowning requirements for extended periods.
