As a Melter, you will be responsible for loading cocoa powder into melter machines according to production requirements. You will handle bags weighing up to 50 lbs frequently and utilize a computer interface to monitor machine weights, temperatures, and performance. Additionally, you will document production data, perform basic troubleshooting on equipment, conduct quality checks, and assist with general production and warehouse duties as needed. The role requires maintaining a clean and safe work area following food safety and quality guidelines.

- Lift and handle bags up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Use computer interface to monitor machine weights, temperatures, and performance.
- Document production data on paper or in the computer system.
- Perform basic troubleshooting on equipment when issues arise.
- Conduct quality checks before, during, and after machine runs.
- Work in warm environments, up to 120°F during peak summer.
- Assist with general production and warehouse duties as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area following food safety and quality guidelines.
- Production and manufacturing experience.
- Inspection and machine setup skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and machine monitoring.
- Mechanical aptitude for basic troubleshooting.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Familiarity with GMPs and HACCP.
- Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred.

Work EnvironmentThe work environment is a food production facility, requiring comfort with time management, warm work areas, and louder than average noise levels. Employees are expected to wear hairnets, beard nets, steel-toed boots, ear plugs, and gloves at all times during their shift. The role involves going up and down stairs regularly. Available shifts include 1st Shift (5:30am - 2pm), 2nd Shift (1:30 PM 10:00 PM, M-F), and 3rd Shift (9:30 PM 6:00 AM, M-F).
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of American Canyon, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.50 - $23.50/hr.
