This role supports the Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering (RME) team by installing, maintaining, and repairing material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, and automated packaging and distribution equipment in a high-volume fulfillment environment. You will perform predictive and preventative maintenance, troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues, and ensure safe, reliable operation of conveyor systems, robotics, and controls while mentoring junior technicians and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment to ensure consistent and reliable operation.
- Perform predictive and preventative maintenance procedures on material handling equipment (MHE), automated conveyor systems, and related controls.
- Diagnose and repair issues with MHE, including conveyors, pneumatic systems, and associated mechanical and electrical components.
- Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to support installation, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
- Apply electrical and electronic principles to identify faults, perform diagnostics, and restore equipment to service.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose MHE systems, including robotic and PLC-based control systems, to minimize downtime.
- Verify and troubleshoot basic input and output functions for building operations and equipment controls.
- Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and maintain accurate records.
- Follow and demonstrate established safety standards and MHE safety practices in accordance with OEM and internal safety guidelines.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment reliability, maintenance processes, and safety.
- Mentor and support junior technicians by sharing technical knowledge, best practices, and safe work procedures.
- Work a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays to support operational needs.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to prioritize work, coordinate repairs, and minimize impact on production.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
- At least 1 year of experience using Microsoft Office products and applications.
- At least 2 years of experience conducting quality predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
- At least 2 years of experience repairing material handling equipment (MHE) or automated conveyor systems and controls.
- At least 2 years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics.
- At least 2 years of knowledge and hands-on experience with electrical and electronic principles.
- At least 2 years of experience following and demonstrating safety standards in an industrial or maintenance environment.
- At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting and diagnosing MHE systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions of building operations and controls.
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset and willingness to learn and grow within an RME environment.
- Experience with MHE safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and internal safety requirements.
- Associate degree or higher from a vocational school or college with a focus in Mechanical or Electrical fields.
- At least 2 years of apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
- At least 2 years of experience working with PLC-based control systems.
- Experience with robotic operation and maintenance.
- Experience working with automation systems and control systems in an industrial setting.
- Background in conveyor maintenance and pneumatic systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a fast-paced fulfillment and distribution facility that relies on advanced material handling equipment, automated conveyor systems, robotics, and PLC-based controls. You will work around moving machinery, conveyors, and pneumatic systems while collaborating closely with operations and maintenance teams. The role requires the ability to move up to 49 pounds and to stand and walk for shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation. The environment emphasizes strict adherence to safety standards, and the company provides lightweight fire-resistant daily wear and composite toe safety shoes as part of the required safety attire.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr.
