Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our cardiology team. The ideal candidate will assist cardiologists with patient care, perform various clinical and administrative tasks, and ensure the smooth operation of the cardiology department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist cardiologists with patient examinations and procedures.
- Perform EKGs, stress tests, and other cardiology-specific diagnostic tests.
- Record patient information, vital signs, and medical histories accurately.
- Prepare and administer medications and vaccines as directed by the physician.
- Provide patient education and support regarding treatments, procedures, and lifestyle changes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all medical equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
- Schedule appointments, manage patient records, and handle administrative tasks as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and safety standards.
- Assist with the preparation and follow-up of cardiac catheterizations, echocardiograms, and other cardiology procedures.
Qualifications:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.
- Previous experience in a cardiology setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in performing EKGs, stress tests, and other cardiology-specific diagnostic tests.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and patient demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Experience with phlebotomy and blood draw techniques.
- Knowledge of cardiology-specific medical terminology and procedures.
