Description:
The Associate Project Manager (APM) is a member of the games licensing team for Warner Bros Discovery. They are responsible for supporting current licensed producers in managing the review and approval process for games developed by Warner Bros Discovery's licensed partners. The person in this role will be responsible for partnering with internal divisions, including franchise teams, IP specific stakeholders, and external cross functional groups, to support the development of innovative, high-quality games that are both profitable and true to Warner Bros Discovery brands. A key focus for the APM will be supporting partners who are operating live mobile free to play games. These games will be targeted to both existing and emerging platforms, including: Mobile (iOS, Android, Windows), Console (Sony PlayStation, Microsoft Xbox, Nintendo Switch), PC/Mac, and AR/VR platforms.
The APM should have a passion for games and experience with game development, project management and/or IP partner management. This person will need to be an adaptive creative thinker with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The APM must be a self-motivated, driven and highly organized with great follow-through skills and the ability to prioritize and manage complex organizational and project specific issues.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with internal creative stakeholders and external licensees to provide oversite of Warner Bros Discovery licensed games from concept to launch and then into live operations, in order to ensure these licensed games achieve franchise, financial, and strategic goals. For games requiring a greater level of production oversite, the Associate Producer will act in a support role, partnering closely with current Licensed Producers; for games which require a lower level of production oversight, the APM will operate independently as the principle contact for both internal and external partners.
The APM will also provide production oversight for a broad portfolio of live licensed games.
Establish, maintain, and enhance relationships with internal and external groups, including production, marketing, and other key stakeholders in order to ensure the delivery of innovative, high-quality games.
Ensure the timely delivery of feedback between stakeholders and licensee across design, art, and development build submissions to meet production deadlines.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders for asset acquisition and overall brand approvals.
Understand and interpret key KPIs and communicate this data to internal stakeholders through quarterly deliverables.
Maintain workflow documentation and drive cross-discipline collaboration.
Assist licensed partners and producers in creating alignment documentation, calendars and high level vision/strategy materials for the live op portion of the game.
Play assigned games and research competitor games to stay current on recent trends (new modes, gameplay types, monetization options), in order to contribute game improvement suggestions during the development process.
Maintain familiarity with all Warner Bros Discovery brands and develop deep knowledge of the brands used in assigned products.
Work Experience
Ideally at least 3 years of experience in a production, development, or partnership management position at an industry-leading game or entertainment company.
Experience in cross-divisional, synergistic roles with multiple stakeholders preferred.
Experience with a movie studio and/or entertainment fields highly preferred.
Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification
BA/ BS required.
Experience with project management tools such as JIRA, Trello, Asana, or similar as well as secure file sharing technologies.
Knowledge/Skills
Ability to operate independently and effectively, work well under pressure, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast results-oriented environment. Experience releasing multiple products at once and project managing each is preferred.
Ability to clearly communicate project scope, schedules, and deadlines in a cross functional environment to different audiences (execs, film/tv stakeholders)
Experience working with AAA entertainment brands (film/tv/comic/animation)
Strong analytical, problem solving, and creative-thinking skills
Strong organizational skills, project management skills, and attention to detail
Ability to multitask, pivot, and change focus when necessary
Strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on using emotional intelligence to build productive and positive relationships with external partners, managers, peers, and others.
