What We Do/Project
This position supports the coordination and review of DC animation projects, including both active productions and projects in development. The role requires a strong familiarity with DC Comics and a general understanding of creative development and production processes across animated content (e.g., films, television, short-form content, etc.) This position also contributes to project trafficking, creative review support, and cross-functional coordination, helping ensure alignment with DC brand guidelines and internal processes.
Job Responsibilities / Typical Day in the Role
• Review outlines, scripts, assets/designs, animatics & cuts, etc., for DC animation projects and provide feedback to help ensure the material and characters are aligned with DC's brand guidelines.
• Consolidate and summarize feedback for DC animation projects to share with production partners.
• Track project progress and lifecycle stages, and maintain departmental calendars to support production milestone tracking.
• Provide research and reference materials related to DC characters, locations, assets, etc., to support the use of DC intellectual property (IP) in any project in development or production.
• Assist in the creation of pitch decks, character one-sheets, etc.
• Coordinate with internal teams to gather feedback and route materials for approval (e.g., partnering with Legal on credit reviews).
• Track usage of characters and IP across projects and inform DC Business Affairs and DC Legal teams.
• Keep up with DC Comics and current developments in DC Publishing for prospective integration of new characters, character costumes, and stories.
• Attend meetings related to project assignments and provide status reports.
• Applies judgment in organizing and tracking project materials, feedback, and timelines.
• Identifies inconsistencies or potential brand alignment issues and escalates to senior team members.
• Contributes to the preparation and consolidation of creative feedback for internal and external partners.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Must be able to travel as needed approximately 10% of the time.
Must Have Skills / Requirements
1) Knowledge of or Passion for DC Comics, Characters, and IP.
a. This position is primarily supporting DC IP. Candidates should have a basic understanding of the DC Universe and a willingness to learn more about DC IP.
2) Creative Problem-Solving Skills
a. Knowledge of Products (See Hard Skill 1) and ability to communicate or visualize guidance being given to the Production Team.
3) Knowledge of Production Pipeline and Roles therein
a. Knowledge or familiarity with both Linear and Streaming production pipelines, stages, needs, etc. From initial concept through final delivery.
Nice to Have Skills / Preferred Requirements
1) Knowledge of current trends within Anime, Animated TV Shows, and Films.
2) Strong time management skills.
Soft Skills:
1) Must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully (both verbally and in writing) with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization, as well as with external stakeholders (such as vendors).
2) Must have the ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across functions.
3) Must have the ability to organize, work well under time constraints, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks and project elements simultaneously.
4) Must have the ability to pay close attention to details and handle confidential material.
5) Knowledge of core DC comic book characters, franchises, mythologies and terminology required.
Technology Requirements:
1) Proficiency using Microsoft Office software (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Adobe Creative Cloud software (such as Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign) required.
2) Experience with tracking programs such as Monday, Shotgrid*, Confluence, Asana, Airtable*, Trello, and/or JIRA required.
3) Proficiency in file set-up, maintenance, and filing procedures (digital, specifically) required.
Education / Certifications
1) Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.
