These packages will ensure compliance of tooling fixtures, such as assembly and lifting jigs, within an aerospace fabrication environment. The role involves analyzing and providing insights on product design and operations involving various structural materials, including metals, non-metallic, and composite materials. The candidate will serve as a principal contributor or leader, collaborating with internal and external customers to meet design requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis using FEMAP/NASTRAN on metallic and composite structures.
- Create and review analysis reports, presenting structural issues and solutions to management and customers.
- Engage with team members to solve complex engineering problems.
- Evaluate engineering products for conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications.
- Conduct static and dynamic analysis for tooling fixtures and structures.
- Design and draft tooling for aircraft assembly using CAD software.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in structural design and analysis.
- Experience with NASTRAN, FEMAP, and CAD software such as CATIA or NX.
- Ability to conduct hand calculations and finite element modeling.
- Knowledge of stress analysis techniques and engineering drawing specifications (ASME 14.5).
- Strong communication skills for technical and interpersonal problem-solving.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 6 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience in tooling or production fabrication.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Professional Engineering License, preferably from California, or in progress.
- Direct aerospace tooling experience.
- Experience with tooling mechanics and stress analysis.
- Current active DOD Secret clearance or eligibility for clearance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Work Environment
The position involves working in a fabrication and machine shop environment, requiring adaptation to processes and company policies. The role demands autonomy and teamwork, with potential for leadership in project tasks. The candidate must be capable of obtaining a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance, as well as Program Special Access.
