Hiring a Material Development Engineer in Fremont, CA!!


Looking for a candidate with the below experience:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Science, Materials Science & Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 0–5 years of experience in the Aerospace and/or Chemical Industry.
  • Strong foundation in polymer/material science, including hands-on testing, processing, and compounding.
  • Proficiency in SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) and related analytical techniques.
  • Experience in technical documentation and report writing.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional, multicultural teams.
  • Familiarity with product development methodologies (VOC, DOE, FMEA, FEA).


Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Material Development Engineer to join our team, supporting the development and optimization of EPS products for Aerospace and Military applications. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong experience in materials science and engineering, particularly in polymers, who are eager to contribute to innovative product development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for EPS products in Aerospace and Military markets.
  • Address product and material obsolescence, and support product migration strategies.
  • Organize and execute experiments, trials, and testing as part of broader development projects.
  • Ensure product compliance with REACH and RoHS regulations.
  • Collaborate with Lead Engineers, Product Managers, Project Managers, and Operations to deliver new development projects.
  • Conduct product development trials aligned with LEANPD processes and PLM Central systems.
  • Lead product qualification and retention efforts, including test planning, execution, and documentation.
  • Support cost-reduction initiatives through brainstorming, experimentation, and data analysis.
  • Drive continuous improvement and product streamlining activities.
  • Collect and analyze data for DFMEA, PFMEA, and qualification documentation.
  • Author and update Product Specifications, Quality Test Plans, and Test Reports.
  • Resolve technical issues for legacy products in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Science, Materials Science & Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 0–5 years of experience in the Aerospace and/or Chemical Industry.
  • Strong foundation in polymer/material science, including hands-on testing, processing, and compounding.
  • Proficiency in SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) and related analytical techniques.
  • Experience in technical documentation and report writing.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional, multicultural teams.
  • Familiarity with product development methodologies (VOC, DOE, FMEA, FEA).
  • Ability to read and interpret material specifications.
  • Knowledge of laboratory, manufacturing, and safety procedures.
  • Ownership mindset with accountability for project deliverables.
  • Green Belt in Design for Six Sigma preferred (or willingness to obtain).
