Job Title: Sign Installer
Job Description
The Sign Installer is responsible for safely installing, servicing, and troubleshooting a wide range of signage at commercial and industrial client sites. This role combines hands-on construction and electrical work with customer-facing responsibilities, ensuring high-quality installations, accurate site surveys, and professional representation of the company on every job.
Responsibilities
- Install a variety of interior and exterior signs at commercial and industrial client locations, including work for well-known regional businesses and institutions.
- Safely operate aerial equipment such as boom lifts and scissor lifts to install signage at heights on building exteriors and other elevated locations.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair of sign outages, including issues related to neon, transformers, ballasts, electrical components, and electronic message centers (EMC).
- Use general construction and installation skills to securely mount signage, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with project specifications.
- Conduct site surveys by taking accurate measurements and clear photos, and upload all required information to designated software for project planning and completion documentation.
- Read and interpret plans, blueprints, and job specifications to ensure accurate and efficient installation of signage according to project requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked vehicle, ensuring all necessary tools, equipment, and materials are available for daily assignments.
- Use hand tools and electrical components safely and effectively while following established safety procedures and industry best practices.
- Demonstrate punctuality and accountability by arriving on time, meeting deadlines, and communicating clearly with team members and supervisors.
- Uphold high standards of quality and customer service, ensuring that each installation meets company expectations and leaves a positive impression with clients.
- Represent the company professionally on job sites by maintaining a positive attitude, clear communication, and respectful interactions with customers and other contractors.
- Complete required documentation accurately, including installation notes, survey data, and any follow-up service needs.
- Travel to various client sites across the central valley, with occasional overnight travel as needed to complete projects.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of previous sign installation or closely related installation experience.
- Working knowledge of general construction and installation practices.
- Ability to safely operate aerial equipment, including boom lifts and scissor lifts.
- Working knowledge of hand tools and electrical components relevant to sign installation and repair.
- Ability to troubleshoot sign outages, including neon, transformers, ballasts, electrical issues, and electronic message centers (EMC).
- Ability to install signage at heights on the exterior of buildings while following all safety protocols.
- Competence in reading and interpreting plans, blueprints, and job specifications.
- Ability to upload photos and measurements to software for site surveys and project completion documentation.
- Strong written communication skills to convey information clearly and accurately.
- Demonstrated punctuality, accountability, and consistent attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and stocked work vehicle.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Lead Sign Installer candidates preferably have at least 5 years of previous sign experience and/or general construction or installation experience.
- Current Class A or Class B California Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brake endorsement is preferred.
- Experience as a field technician or neon sign installer is an advantage.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and sound common sense in daily decision-making.
- Ability to maintain strong customer relationships while working on job sites.
- Experience working on commercial and industrial job sites.
- Comfort with periodic overnight travel when required by project schedules.

Work Environment

The day-to-day environment is fast-paced and project-driven, with a focus on quality installations, safety, and professional conduct on customer job sites.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fresno, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
