Job Description
This role requires a skilled and detail-oriented Painter who prepares a variety of surfaces, applies paint and coatings, and delivers high-quality finishes across diverse projects. You will handle both preparation and application tasks, ensuring clean, precise results while following safety protocols and maintaining a clean work area. The position involves physical work, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods, and operates primarily on an evening shift.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming as needed to ensure proper adhesion and a smooth finish.
- Inspect surfaces before painting to identify areas requiring additional preparation or protection.
- Apply masking tape, plastic sheeting, and drop cloths to protect trim, windows, floors, fixtures, and hardware.
- Remove and replace outlet covers, switch plates, and fixtures as needed to achieve proper masking and thorough coverage.
- Ensure clean, straight lines for all edges, corners, and transitions to deliver a professional appearance.
- Apply paint, stain, and coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment, following project specifications.
- Mix and match paint colors to achieve the desired shade and finish for each project.
- Perform paint prep tasks, including filling, sanding, and spot-priming, to correct imperfections.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition by cleaning and storing them properly after use.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment throughout each project.
- Work independently or as part of a team to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
Essential Skills
- 3 to 4 years of experience as a painter in commercial, residential, or industrial settings.
- Strong knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and surface preparation methods.
- Proficiency in applying paint, stain, and coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Ability to mix and match paint colors to achieve specific tones and finishes.
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality finishes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete projects effectively.
- Physical ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods while performing painting tasks.
- Experience with paint prep, including cleaning, sanding, priming, and masking.

Work Environment
This role operates primarily in an indoor and outdoor bank environment, requiring flexibility to work in different areas and conditions as projects demand. The standard shift runs from 6:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., with some weekend work as needed to meet project timelines. The position involves frequent lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods while working on surfaces at various heights. You will use brushes, rollers, spray equipment, masking materials, and other painting tools, and you are expected to maintain a clean, organized workspace and adhere to all safety protocols while on site.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Glendale, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
