The electromechanical assembler supports prototype manufacturing and testing activities by performing precise mechanical and electrical assembly of user terminal components, subassemblies, and final products. This role operates light and automated equipment, assists engineers with development builds, and helps develop and optimize production line stations and processes while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace and ensuring product quality and conformance to design requirements.
Responsibilities- Support the development of prototype manufacturing and test capabilities for user terminal products.
- Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of components, subassemblies, and final assemblies according to detailed instructions and controlled documentation.
- Operate light equipment such as drills, custom-built tooling, crimpers, and presses in a safe and efficient manner.
- Program, load, operate, and troubleshoot automated equipment used in assembly and testing processes.
- Execute scheduled equipment maintenance and calibration to ensure reliable operation and product consistency.
- Package final products for delivery, following established procedures and quality standards.
- Maintain consumables inventory by monitoring stock levels and coordinating replenishment when needed.
- Assist engineers with development builds and other technical tasks to support new product introduction and process improvements.
- Help develop and optimize production line stations and processes to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput.
- Keep the workspace clean, organized, and thoroughly maintained in accordance with workplace standards.
- Ensure product quality and conformance to design requirements by following drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
- Prioritize safety at all times and follow all safety guidelines, procedures, and best practices during assembly and equipment operation.
- Use hand tools and electromechanical skills to perform precise assembly, testing, wiring, and troubleshooting as needed.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, layout drawings, mechanical drawings, and assembly procedures to complete work accurately.
- At least 2 years of mechanical or electrical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong electromechanical assembly skills, including mechanical, electrical, and wiring capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and work from layout drawings, mechanical drawings, engineering drawings, schematics, assembly procedures, work instructions, and parts lists.
- Proficiency using hand tools, including drills, crimpers, presses, and custom-built tooling.
- Ability to perform testing and wiring tasks and work from schematics and blueprints.
- Proficiency using a PC with Microsoft Windows and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineers and production team members.
- Strong organizational skills to manage tasks, documentation, and inventory in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in an electro-mechanical manufacturing, precision manufacturing, or high-volume manufacturing company.
- Hands-on experience with electrical wiring in an assembly or production setting.
- Experience supporting prototype manufacturing and test activities is beneficial.
- Background in operating and troubleshooting automated equipment in a production environment.
- Familiarity with equipment maintenance and calibration schedules and procedures.
- Experience assisting engineering teams with development builds and process optimization.
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and well-documented workspace in alignment with manufacturing standards.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and conformance to design requirements.
- Comfort working with both mechanical and electrical systems in an integrated electromechanical environment.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a manufacturing environment focused on electromechanical assembly and testing, where you work with hand tools, light equipment such as drills, custom tooling, crimpers, and presses, as well as automated equipment that you program, load, operate, and troubleshoot. The position follows structured shift schedules, including Monday–Friday 4:00 am–2:30 pm, Monday–Friday 4:00 pm–2:30 am, Sunday–Wednesday 5:00 am–5:00 pm, and Sunday–Wednesday 2:30 am–2:30 pm. You work at production line stations and assembly areas that require attention to cleanliness, organization, and safety, with ongoing equipment maintenance and calibration activities forming part of daily operations.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Hawthorne, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
