Job Title: Senior Accountant

Job Description

The Senior Accountant role is a highly independent position, focusing on accounting and financial activities within the company. This role demands strong analytical and reasoning skills to navigate uncertainties effectively. You will apply generally accepted accounting principles to analyze financial information, make journal entries, and prepare account reconciliations for accurate and complete financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements, reports, and records by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
• Prepare and analyze quarterly consolidated financial statements.
• Compile and assess quarterly and monthly reports, including consolidated sales and quarterly reserves.
• Develop financial budgets and forecasts updates, including modeling and supporting schedules.
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, accrual calculations, and other related accounting documents/schedules.
• Assist in providing follow-up and documentation of significant variances.
• Understand intercompany transactions.
• Enhance productivity by developing automated accounting applications.
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
• Meet all financial reporting deadlines.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Document policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.
• Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned.
• Protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.

Essential Skills

• A minimum of 7 years’ experience in financial reporting, financial data analysis, budgeting, and auditing.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, handling new tasks with high difficulty.
• Capability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited university.
• 4+ years of experience with inventory, fixed assets, and intercompany accounts.
• Experience with ERP systems such as JDE or SAP is preferred, but open to others.
• Strong data manipulation skills, especially with advanced Excel.
• Industry experience in manufacturing is a plus.
• Experience working in larger teams of at least 8-10 people.

Work Environment

The position offers a hybrid schedule with 2 days onsite and 3 days remote work. The team consists of 12 people in general accounting, and you will be part of a dynamic environment focusing on implementing SAP. Dress code is professional casual, and the work involves handling extensive financial data.
