Job Title: QC Microbiology Associate II
Pay Rate: $24-25/hr
Shift Days: Sunday - Thursday Hours: 7am - 3:30pm (should be flexible to working OT as needed)
Bachelors Degree in Microbiology, Biology or biochemistry - knowledge of aseptic techniques.
1 year of GMP experience preferred in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Handle microbiological sample receiving, labeling, preparation, testing, counting, checking, and recording data analysis on finished products and stability test samples.
- Retrieve and sort samples for testing in the laboratory.
- Prepare media and samples, perform autoclave duties, and conduct other microbiological tasks.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and GMP guidelines.
- Support the department by scheduling and executing equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrate competency in sample labeling, collection, documentation, and testing.
- Perform basic microbiological assays.
- Adhere to good documentation practices (GDP) and data integrity practices.
- Complete and review all aspects of a job to ensure quality.
- Engage in continuous learning and training to meet testing demands.
- Maintain and ensure good performance, maintenance, and housekeeping of lab equipment and facilities.
- Interact closely with other departments to ensure efficient, compliant, and timely execution of project activities.
- Participate in the development of process and test methods, specifications, procedures, and equipment operating instructions.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in microbiology techniques and working in a microbiology laboratory.
- Understanding and application of aseptic techniques and quality control processes.
- Experience in media and sample preparation, sterilization, environmental monitoring, and GMP practices.
- Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Biology, or Biochemistry.
- 9-12 months of GMP experience preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques.
- Willingness to undergo a one-week training program.
Work Environment
You will work in a GMP-regulated environment with the product release department, performing microbiology testing. The work schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with flexibility required for additional hours as needed. The environment is fast-paced and high-volume, requiring attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently.
