Key Responsibilities:

• Design Excellence: Lead the design of grading, street improvements, and underground facilities, ensuring alignment with FEI design standards, agency requirements, and client expectations.
• Problem Solver: Tackle major design problems with creativity and precision, delivering solutions that set new benchmarks in the industry.
• Concept Development: Collaborate with the Manager to develop cutting-edge design concepts and standards, coordinating seamlessly with governmental agencies.
• Mentorship: Train and coach junior team members, fostering their professional growth and contributing to a culture of continuous learning.
• Project Coordination: Prepare cost estimates, develop schedules, and coordinate the design team's efforts to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
• Technical Expertise: Produce detailed technical reports and calculations, including hydrology, hydraulics, sewer capacity, earthwork, and water demand.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all designs are of the highest quality, cost-effective, and meet stringent agency standards.
• Leadership: Supervise Interns, Associate Engineers, Designers, and Engineers, maintaining project schedules and coordinating staffing needs.
• Innovation: Initiate, implement, and promote new ideas and procedures that drive the team forward.
• Construction Support: Provide surveyors with staking plans, resolve construction discrepancies, and develop responses to RFIs.
• Documentation: Determine plan or report formats and complete necessary documentation for design packages.
• Approval Process: Assist the Manager in processing plans for approval, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.
• Professional Development: Offer training opportunities that enhance team members' skills and career progression.
• Reliability: Demonstrate punctuality and regular attendance, setting a standard for the team.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, land development, grading, hydrology, site planning, stormwater management, drainage, street maintenance, cost estimation, schedule planning, technical report writing, hydraulics, sewer systems, earthworks, water resources, proposals, surveying, construction, RFIs, residential, commercial, urban, and mixed-use design.
• Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent discipline from a four-year college or university.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 to 7 years of land development design experience, with at least two years independently solving complex engineering problems.
• Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, LDD, and/or Civil 3D software.
• Experience Level: Expert Level
