Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented entry level Phlebotomist/CPT 1 to join our dynamic team in Support Services. As a Phlebotomist/CPT 1, you will play a crucial role in performing pre-analytical and post-analytical activities, ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory. Primary duties include:
• Perform phlebotomy on inpatients and outpatients. Will rotate in all phlebotomy areas (e.g. 200 Med Plaza, 100 Med Plaza, and all Med Plaza satellite draw stations).
• Perform EKG
• Answer phones to provide reports and respond to questions within the scope of knowledge.
• Triage all lab samples and requests after verification of appropriate information.
• Generate computer labels for specimens and deliver to appropriate areas.
• Prepare samples for transport to referral labs or storage.
• Document draws, added tests, and cancelled/rejected specimens.
• Handle computer operations (report printing), and engage in data entry and retrieval.

Salary Range: $25.62 - $31.86/hour

*Completion of probationary period in conjunction with adequate years of experience may result in a career ladder to CPT II position.

Job Qualifications
Qualifications
• Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT I).
• High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED or HiSET).
• Ability to work in various locations (e.g. 200 Med Plaza, 100 Med Plaza, and all Med Plaza satellite draw stations).
• Skill in using a computer and printer.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull at least 20lbs. of equipment/supplies on a regular basis.
• Ability to reach overhead, bend downward and forward, and alternate between sitting or standing.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks, such as data entry.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and other shifts as needed.
• Previous experience performing specimen processing in an acute care facility, preferred.
• Previous experience using EPIC, preferred.
