Job Title: Medical Assistant
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering high-quality patient care within a clinical setting. This role involves a combination of back-office clinical responsibilities and patient interaction, ensuring efficient workflow and a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist providers with clinical procedures and patient care activities
- Perform core Medical Assistant duties, including patient rooming, specimen collection/testing, and vital signs
- Obtain and accurately document patient medical histories within the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Review patient orders to ensure completeness and close out any outstanding or incomplete orders prior to patient check-out
- Verify and process patient referrals and laboratory requisitions, ensuring accurate patient information and data entry
- Obtain required patient waivers and consents and document appropriately within the EMR
- Prepare and clean exam rooms following each patient visit in accordance with infection control standards
- Maintain fully stocked, organized, and sanitized exam rooms
- Ensure all patients are properly checked out and provided with their Patient Summary Plan
- Review Patient Summary Plans with patients to confirm understanding of care instructions, as directed by providers
- Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality and professionalism
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required
- Candidates with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a diploma
- Medical Assistant Certificate or Diploma required
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a medical office or clinical environment
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Strong customer service and patient communication skills

- Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems

This is a Contract position based out of Los Angeles, CA 90059.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
