About the Role
As a CBRE Union Chiller Assistant, you will support a major telecommunications client across critical sites in the Los Angeles area. You will be part of a team responsible for maintaining and supporting essential facility equipment, ensuring system reliability and uptime in a mission-critical environment.
This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function, which provides support, preventive maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems. You will assist with troubleshooting, maintenance, and operational support for chiller systems and related equipment to help ensure continuous operations.
This is a union position, and all terms and conditions of employment are governed by the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

What You'll Do
- Assist with troubleshooting, diagnosing, and restoring routine technical service and equipment issues
- Support maintenance of chiller systems and related HVAC/mechanical equipment in critical environments
- Help maintain routine maintenance schedules, system configurations, and technical documentation
- Assist in resolving equipment or system issues impacting site operations and ensure proper documentation is maintained
- Support user training related to system updates and maintenance procedures as needed
- Apply standard principles and procedures to complete assigned technical tasks
- Collaborate with team members and follow established protocols to support operational goals
- Communicate clearly with team members, vendors, and stakeholders regarding maintenance activities and system status
- Adhere to all safety procedures and compliance standards while performing assigned duties
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs
- High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma required
- Minimum of 2-3 years of job-related experience in HVAC, mechanical systems, or facilities maintenance
- EPA Universal Certification required
- Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs or more
- Basic knowledge of HVAC/chiller systems and troubleshooting principles
- Ability to follow established procedures and apply problem-solving skills in standard situations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- General familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Willingness to learn and grow within a technical, team-oriented environment
