Job Title: Solar Technician
Job Description
This role supports a large-scale solar project by performing general construction and maintenance tasks, including moving materials, pulling non-live wire, and accurately entering work orders. You will use basic hand tools in an outdoor construction environment to help ensure the safe and efficient operation of a utility-scale solar site.
Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day project maintenance activities on a large solar site.
- Move and organize materials safely across the work area to support construction and maintenance tasks.
- Pull non-live wire according to project specifications and safety procedures.
- Use basic hand tools, including tape measures and socket wrenches, to complete assigned tasks accurately.
- Measure, mark, and verify distances and layouts to support proper installation and construction work.
- Input work orders and task updates accurately to support project tracking and documentation.
- Follow all site safety protocols and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to complete work efficiently and resolve issues on site.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in an active outdoor construction environment.
- Adapt to changing priorities on a large 90MW solar project and support additional duties as needed.
Essential Skills
- Experience performing general labor in construction, solar, or similar outdoor work environments.
- Ability to use basic hand tools such as tape measures and socket wrenches safely and effectively.
- Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and moving materials.
- Comfort working in an outdoor construction environment in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to follow instructions, safety procedures, and established work processes.
- Basic ability to input and update work orders or job-related information accurately.
- Reliability to work a 4x10 schedule from Monday through Thursday.
- Willingness and ability to work under an Alternative Work Schedule (AWS) as required.
- Commitment to wearing and properly using required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Los Banos, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
