Job Title: Electrical Engineer/Designer


Job Description

In accordance with client expectations and applicable professional standards, the lead Electrical Engineer will design small to large projects, ensuring their completion. The role involves coordinating and reviewing the work of engineers, designers, interns, and CAD drafters, mentoring electrical staff, and providing oversight on work performed by the team.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and review work of engineers, designers, interns, and CAD drafters.
  • Mentor electrical staff and provide oversight on work performed by the team.
  • Prepare, develop, and edit construction documents and specifications.
  • Conduct CA field observation reports.
  • Visit construction sites for observation, answer contractor questions, and represent the owner in preparing punch lists.
  • Present and develop planning and design concepts for complex projects.
  • Establish and maintain project staffing requirements consistent with contractual obligations.
  • Follow and enforce quality control procedures.
  • Coordinate with consultants.
  • Review RFPs and determine submission requirements.
  • Review and ensure compliance with project criteria and requirements.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other disciplines and team members.
  • Lead electrical systems design for building projects, including power systems and lighting.
  • Design and perform calculations for power systems, lighting, and associated controls.
  • Prepare Title 24 compliance forms.
  • Prepare construction documents.
  • Review electrical drawings.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor Degree in Architectural/Electrical Engineering.
  • 10 years or more of industry experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of California codes and standards.
  • Proficient use of Autodesk Revit and CAD.
  • Strong communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • PE license preferred.
  • Excellent planning and organization skills required for a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

The engineering team is closely knit, working on many of the same projects together and often bouncing ideas off each other to meet deadlines. While there are individual responsibilities for different projects, the team supports each other, and most team members stay for over 10 years.
