Job Title: Manufacturing Lab Technician
Job Description
The Manufacturing Lab Technician supports reagent manufacturing within the packaging department by accurately filling bulk reagents into final containers, assembling multi-component kits, and maintaining precise documentation. This role works in a laboratory production environment, following standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure product quality, safety, and inventory accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Fill bulk reagents into final container bottles and prepare kits containing multiple reagents according to established procedures.
- Obtain bulk reagents from production and ensure all materials are available and ready for packaging activities.
- Print labels for bottles and containers and apply them by hand or using labeling equipment to ensure correct product identification.
- Pipette reagents into bottles with accuracy and consistency, following SOPs and quality standards.
- Measure reagent volumes using graduated cylinders to ensure correct fill volumes for each product.
- Operate packaging equipment, including printers, labelers, and electronic or mechanical filling machines, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Fill non-sterile liquid products in dark room and fume hood work areas, adhering to safety and handling guidelines.
- Prepare components such as bottles, inserts, and instructions for inclusion in finished product kits.
- Assemble kits that may include multiple reagents, components, and documentation, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Verify the accuracy of work and document batch records thoroughly and legibly for each production run.
- Work in compliance with SOPs and follow directions from leadership to meet production and quality requirements.
- Monitor and maintain inventory status on products and components to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe laboratory environment by following health and safety guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the manufacturing and packaging operations.
Essential Skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Familiarity with pipetting techniques for handling liquid reagents.
- Basic experience working in a manufacturing, laboratory, or medical device environment.
- Ability to perform accurate measurements using graduated cylinders and other basic lab tools.
- Capability to operate or learn to operate packaging equipment such as printers, labelers, and filling machines.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure correct labeling, filling, and kit assembly.
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and complete batch records.
- Punctuality and reliability to support consistent production schedules.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted as part of daily tasks.
- Ability to work with animal plasma and serum-based products.
- Ability to wear latex gloves and safety glasses as required for laboratory safety.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in reagent preparation or reagent manufacturing is beneficial.
- Familiarity with inventory tracking and basic inventory control processes.
- Experience working under ISO or similar quality system standards is an advantage.
- Background in medical device or regulated laboratory environments is helpful.
- Comfort working in a production-focused lab setting with defined procedures and quality expectations.
Work Environment
This role is based in a laboratory manufacturing and packaging setting, working primarily with non-sterile liquid reagents, animal plasma/serum-based products, and related components. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with overtime possible as needed; weekends are not currently required.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
