Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Job Description
This role involves performing precise electro-mechanical assembly work, including cable harnessing, box builds, electrical and valve assemblies, and point-to-point wiring by following detailed schematics and drawings. You will use a variety of hand tools and assembly techniques to build high-quality products in a clean room environment as part of a collaborative production team.
Responsibilities
- Assemble electro-mechanical components and systems by reading and interpreting schematics, drawings, and work instructions.
- Perform cable harness assembly, including cutting, routing, bundling, and securing cables according to specifications.
- Build and assemble boxes and enclosures, ensuring all components are installed, aligned, and secured correctly.
- Carry out electrical assembly tasks such as basic wiring, point-to-point wiring, and connection of electrical components.
- Assemble valve and pneumatic components, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and function.
- Use hand tools including wrenches, screwdrivers, calipers, torque tools, and crimping tools for small pins to complete assembly tasks.
- Perform soldering on electrical and electro-mechanical components, ensuring clean, reliable, and compliant solder joints.
- Inspect assembled components and finished products for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
- Follow clean room procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Work collaboratively with other assemblers and support teams to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Multitask across different assembly activities as needed while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
- Document work as required and communicate any issues, defects, or discrepancies to the appropriate team members.
Essential Skills
- Ability to read and understand schematics and drawings.
- Minimum of 6+ months of assembly experience.
- Hands-on experience with cable harness assembly.
- Experience performing box builds and enclosure assembly.
- Proficiency in basic wiring and point-to-point wiring.
- Experience with electrical assembly tasks.
- Ability to perform valve assembly and basic pneumatic assembly.
- Soldering skills for electrical and electro-mechanical components.
- Proficient use of hand tools including wrenches, screwdrivers, calipers, torque tools, and crimping tools for small pins.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform thorough inspection of assemblies.
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple assembly activities.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience working with electro-mechanical assemblies.

- Experience working as an electro-mechanical assembler.
- Familiarity with clean room procedures and practices.
- Experience with inspection of assembled components and finished products.
- Comfort working with both mechanical and electrical components.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions and production documentation.

Work Environment
You will work in a clean room environment alongside approximately 15 other assemblers in the department. The setting emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to process standards. The role offers two shifts: a day shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and a swing shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., providing some flexibility in scheduling. You will regularly use hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, calipers, torque tools, and crimping tools, as well as soldering equipment, to complete daily tasks. The environment supports teamwork and communication, with clear reporting lines and collaborative interaction among assemblers and supervisors.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newark, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
