The UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine - VA Wadsworth is seeking a Psychologist II to support the Sleep Research Group (SRG) on the VA Sepulveda Campus. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a clinical research setting focused on improving the health of older adults through innovative studies on sleep disorders such as insomnia.

The psychologist will deliver cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to research participants according to established protocols, and collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of investigators, trainees, and staff across UCLA and partner institutions.

Salary: $60.11 - $79.29 hourly

Job Qualifications
Qualifications

Required:
  • Current California clinical psychologist license
  • PhD or PsyD
  • Minimum of 1 year internship and 1 year of fellowship/post-graduate experience
  • Knowledge and practice of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
  • Experience coordinating research projects including data collection, administering of assessments and interventions
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of behavioral sleep medicine as demonstrated by post-graduate training in the field and participation in related research.
  • Thorough knowledge of major issues and recent research in behavioral medicine and healthcare delivery models to design effective behavioral interventions.
  • Knowledge of the principles, concepts, methods, and techniques of health services and clinical research to provide expert advice and consultation.
  • Ability to implement behavioral interventions and conduct, score and interpret clinician-administered interviews according to published methods and research protocols.
  • Ability to apply principles of adult education to develop appropriate education materials for patients and training materials for research staff.
  • Ability to communicate, both orally (in person and by telephone), respond to inquiries, and interact with UCLA officials and representatives from public and private healthcare organizations.
  • Advanced-level expertise with major office computer programs, including but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel
