Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Industrial Maintenance Technician plays a key role in improving the reliability and performance of manufacturing and infrastructure equipment within a regulated food and beverage environment. This position focuses on maintaining plant equipment at optimum efficiency by troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and related systems. The technician also supports the development and training of junior maintenance team members and production staff to enhance overall machine efficiency and uptime.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on sprockets, pumps, bearings, shafts, chains, conveyors, belts, and all related mechanical equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repair on Hyperbaric HPP equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on steam, pneumatic, water, hydraulic, and other related piping systems and equipment.
- Use and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation for equipment within the facility.
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks on production and facility equipment and resolve identified issues in a timely manner.
- Observe equipment and process conditions, accurately diagnose problems, and implement effective corrective actions with minimal supervision.
- Apply and follow lockout/tagout procedures and confined space entry practices to ensure safe maintenance operations.
- Assist in maintaining accurate, up-to-date maintenance records and database entries for equipment history and work performed.
- Pursue ongoing personal development by staying current on maintenance techniques, tools, and best practices.
- Actively participate in safety initiatives and housekeeping programs to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Support and help train lower-level maintenance technicians, machine operators, and helpers to improve machine efficiencies and reduce downtime.
- Perform other duties as directed by plant engineering, maintenance leadership, process engineering, and -level technicians.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and repair on pumps, sprockets, bearings, shafts, chains, conveyors, belts, and related components.
- Ability to maintain and repair steam, pneumatic, water, and hydraulic piping systems and associated equipment.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance and resolving issues identified during inspections.
- Capability to independently diagnose equipment problems and implement corrective actions with little or no supervision.
- Working knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures and confined space entry practices.
- Experience working in a regulated food or beverage manufacturing environment (ideal).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- industrial maintenance within food and beverage or other regulated production environments.
- Familiarity with Hyperbaric HPP equipment and related maintenance activities.
- Comfort with maintaining accurate maintenance logs and using maintenance databases or CMMS systems.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and staying current on maintenance best practices.
- Ability to collaborate with and train junior technicians, operators, and helpers.

Work Environment
This role operates in a cold and refrigerated production environment, typically around 40 degrees. You work on a 2nd shift schedule from 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, with overtime available, including the potential for a sixth workday when needed. The setting is a regulated food and beverage manufacturing facility with industrial equipment, piping systems, and Hyperbaric HPP machinery. Work involves being on the production floor, moving between machines and systems, and following strict safety, sanitation, and housekeeping standards appropriate for a cold, food-processing environment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.
