Job Title: Manual Machinist
Job Description
Perform precision machining tasks such as turning, milling, grinding, boring, and fitting on turbine components, valves, and other equipment requiring repair. Work from drawings, weld and GD&T symbols, approved procedures, and OEM specifications to ensure parts meet required tolerances and finishes. Set up and operate manual machines, selecting appropriate work-holding, tooling, speeds, and feeds for each job. Support both shop and field work while maintaining clean, organized, and safe working conditions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct repair machining to restore worn or damaged parts to specifications.
- Machine new parts from scratch based on prints or samples without pre-set setups.
- Proficiently cut acme threads, a frequent requirement in valve and actuator work.
- Consistently hold tight tolerances and measure work accurately to verify specifications.
- Perform TIG, MIG, stick welding, and fabrication in the machine shop.
Essential Skills
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, dread drawings, and single part drawings.
- Skilled in working with manual machines and exotic metals, including lathe machines and mill machining.
- Experienced in using turning tools, grinding machines, boring mills, and turning lathes.
- Ability to set up machines and interpret GD&T symbols effectively.
- At least 10 years of experience in the field.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Open to travel for field assignments.
- Experience with TIG, MIG, and stick welding.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and bore gauges.
- Ability to mentor apprentice machinists and support crew tasks.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ontario, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $65.00/hr.
