Job Title: Tooling Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Tooling Engineer to join our Tool Integration and Offsite department, where you will have the opportunity to work on revolutionary systems that impact lives globally. This role is based at the Plant 42 facility in Palmdale, CA, and involves collaborating with a dynamic team of Tool Design Engineers, Tool Integrators, and Tool Assembly personnel.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and external customers and colleagues to ensure tooling meets customer needs throughout the engineering process, including design, fabrication, and implementation.
• Lead, coordinate, and execute design and fabrication requirements for tools and fixtures.
• Engage in medium to large scale tooling fabrication and assembly, and/or production fabrication, including composites, metallic coatings application, and production manufacturing operations.
• Utilize 3D CAD tools such as CATIA, NX, and CREO for tooling design.

Essential Skills

• Experience in medium to large scale tooling fabrication and/or production fabrication, including composites, metallic coatings application, and production manufacturing operations.
• STEM degree in Science, Technical, Engineering, or Mathematics.
• Direct tool design experience with medium to large scale tooling.
• Direct aerospace tooling experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAD design, tool design, and fixture design.
• 3D CAD design experience with tools such as CATIA, NX, and CREO.
• Knowledge of composite processes and applications.

Work Environment

This position is on-site with no telecommuting at the Plant 42 facility in Palmdale, CA. The role operates on a 9/80 schedule, allowing for a balanced work-life arrangement. There is no clearance required, and travel is not anticipated.
