Job Title: Production Planner
Job Description
The role involves planning, scheduling, and coordinating products through the production cycle while ensuring material availability and alignment with demand. The position requires creating and managing production orders for components and assemblies based on forecasts, demand, and lead times to optimize inventory levels across a global network. Additionally, the Production Planner will generate MRP and partner with Procurement to secure materials, manage inventory including safety stock and shelf life, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure smooth production flow.
Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate products through the production cycle.
- Create and manage production orders based on forecasts, demand, and lead times.
- Generate MRP and partner with Procurement to secure materials.
- Manage inventory, including safety stock and shelf life.
- Collaborate with Logistics, Manufacturing, and Quality teams for smooth production.
- Communicate with Commercial and Finance teams to make informed inventory decisions.
- Maintain MRP master data, including lead times, lot sizes, and stocking levels.
- Track KPIs such as backorders, on-time delivery, and work order shortages.
- Resolve material and labor shortages proactively to minimize production disruptions.
Essential Skills
- Strong MRP experience and ability to interpret system outputs.
- Hands-on production planning and ownership of planning activities.
- Cross-functional collaboration with Procurement, Logistics, Manufacturing, and Quality.
- ERP experience required, Oracle Cloud preferred, SAP acceptable.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of production or supply chain planning experience.
- Strong preference for Production Planner or Supply Planner experience.
- Manufacturing experience required, industry flexible.
- Strong planning experience prioritized over a degree.
- Experience with APICS, CPIM, Tableau, Power BI, NPI, New product launch.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
Work Environment
The role requires working on-site Monday to Friday from 8/9 AM to 5 PM. The position is not flexible for work-from-home arrangements.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Pleasanton, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
