Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer
Job Summary
The Electrical Professional Engineer will perform site investigations and prepare calculations, drawings, and design specifications detailing the layout and materials for all electrical requirements and systems. This includes site utility requirements such as backup generators, overhead power lines (12kV), switchgear, and building electrical systems. Additionally, the electrical engineer will design and prepare deliverable drawings for these systems and ensure coordination with architects, structural engineers, mechanical engineers, and civil engineers to provide a fully coordinated design package.
Responsibilities
- Perform site investigations.
- Prepare calculations, drawings, and design specifications for electrical systems.
- Design and prepare deliverable drawings for electrical systems.
- Prepare specifications, requisitions, and bid analysis/purchase orders for materials.
- Coordinate and collaborate with architects, structural engineers, mechanical engineers, and civil engineers.
- Review calculations, drawings, and specifications to provide meaningful comments.
- Conduct constructability reviews of drawings.
- Coordinate with consultants and contractors.
- Provide construction administration services.
- Engage in on-site, field experience as needed.
Essential Skills
- BS in Electrical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering license obtained from any State with reciprocity in California within 6 months
- Minimum of six years of consulting experience with an electrical engineering firm
- Experience with Revit
- Experience with public projects
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in estimating and reviewing constructability of drawings
- Ability to coordinate with consultants and contractors
- On-site, field experience
- Experience in construction administration services
- Experience in electrical design, schematic engineering, power distribution, circuit design, low voltage power, building design, lighting, and software such as Autocad and Revit
- 20+ years of electrical design building experience with an electrical engineering firm
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $62.50 - $76.92/hr.
