Job Title: Mixer Operator
Job Description
The Operator is tasked with operating various equipment in production and packaging. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, you will coordinate a team of Bakery associates to support the production line. You will receive training from a subject matter expert to proficiently operate select machinery, ensuring adherence to specification sheets, managing proper weights, settings, packaging, quality, speeds, labels, and ingredients. You are responsible for maintaining safety standards and addressing any issues compromising product quality.
Responsibilities
- Follow all safety, GMP, and quality policies and regulations.
- Monitor product quality and ensure adherence to product specifications.
- Assist with training and cross-training when necessary.
- Provide break rotations and lunches to employees, when necessary.
- Continuously improve knowledge of products and production requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas during and after production runs.
- Monitor finished product quality, focusing on eliminating defects and increasing throughput.
- Communicate effectively with Bakery team members and supervisors to resolve challenges and improve operational efficiencies.
- Perform routine safety checks and contribute to a safe workplace environment.
Essential Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a food manufacturing or related environment
- Familiarity with food processing and packaging equipment
- High mechanical aptitude demonstrated through prior work experience
- Basic troubleshooting skills
- Experience with GMPs, Food Safety, and Company Safety policies
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to read and understand machine manuals, SOPs, and production orders
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand basic English
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends if needed
- Must be able to lift and push/pull up to 50 lbs continuously without assistance
- Must be able to stand for 8–12 hours per shift
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks such as bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching
- Must be able to work in environments with varying temperatures and noise levels
- Must wear non-slip (oil/water-rated) safety shoes
- Must follow all PPE and GMP guidelines

Work Environment
This position is set in a manufacturing and GMP environment that can be very hot and loud. The pace is fast, and there are distinctive smells associated with the baking process. Expect to adhere to a dress code that includes non-slip safety shoes and compliance with PPE and GMP guidelines.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
