Quality Technician - 2nd shift - Kearny Mesa
Contract-to-hire, $19.75/hour!
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Technician to join our team, working under moderate supervision to perform essential functions associated with quality control and quality assurance operations. This role involves inspection, calibration, creating inspection procedures, and sampling plans to verify product quality. The position operates on a 2nd shift schedule from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, following an initial training period from 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM for approximately 2-4 weeks.
Responsibilities
- Perform cinspections following established procedures and work instructions.
- Read and interpret specifications and mechanical drawing
- Use calipers, micrometers, and other inspection tools
- Use compouter for data entry
- Identify defects through testing and inspection processes.
- Maintain test machines and test fixtures.
- Process shipping documentation and prepare necessary documents for shipment.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a technician in a manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma or higher required
- Ability to use a microscope for extended periods, approximately 5-6 hours per day.
- Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and other measuring tools.
- Strong computer skills, including familiarity with word-processing and spreadsheet programs, particularly Excel.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write in English.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Blueprint reading skills are preferred but not required.
- Organization skills to collect data and transform it into meaningful information.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic, algebraic, and geometric calculations.
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels.
- Willingness to wear cleanroom apparel and adhere to cleanroom protocols.
- Proactive and enthusiastic attitude, with a willingness to learn and contribute.

Work Environment
The work environment involves working in a cleanroom setting, requiring adherence to cleanroom attire protocols. The role is physically demanding, with requirements to stand or sit for extended periods, bend, stoop, turn, and twist. The ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and to handle small parts or tools is necessary. The position operates on the 2nd shift from Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, after an initial training period.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.75 - $19.75/hr.
