Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician 4 who is skilled in wire bond operations, both ball and wedge wire bonding. The ideal candidate should be familiar with K&S wire bond equipment and have intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in typing, Excel, SAP, and Outlook. The role requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings, depending on the specific function. Vision abilities such as close vision, color vision, and depth perception are necessary, with 20/20 corrected vision required for certain divisions. The candidate must also have the physical ability to perform job tasks such as lifting 25 pounds and standing or sitting for extended periods.
Responsibilities
- Operate wire bond equipment, including ball and wedge wire bonding.
- Work with K&S wire bond equipment (preferred).
- Utilize computer skills for tasks involving Excel, SAP, and Outlook.
- Read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Perform detailed work using a microscope.
- Handle manual dexterity tasks with thin wires and small pieces.
- Follow step-by-step processes on user interfaces of machines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with mechanical and electronic equipment.
- Set up and operate automated equipment in the electronics industry.
Essential Skills
- Mechanical aptitude and electronics troubleshooting.
- Experience with wire bonding or automated equipment set up.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions in English.
- Proficiency in arithmetic, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing all units of measure.
- Ability to use a microscope for detailed work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- AA or AS degree (preferred); high school diploma (required).
- 4-5+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing/production setting.
- Knowledge of SPC, FMEA, Lean, and Six Sigma principles (preferred).
- Willingness to wear cleanroom apparel and PPE, such as finger cots, masks, and more.
- Eligible to work in an ITAR-regulated environment.
Work Environment
The work schedule includes 10 paid holidays and 5 days of accrued PTO. This is a 12-month contract position with the potential to be extended or converted to a full-time role. The position involves working in a cleanroom environment, requiring the use of PPE such as finger cots and masks.
