Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Solar Construction Project Manager to lead the execution of our expanding portfolio of commercial solar projects. This role demands a professional with a strong background in electrical construction, solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, and project management. The ideal candidate will manage all phases of project execution, from pre-construction planning to final commissioning, ensuring projects are completed safely, within budget, and on schedule. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with estimation and design teams to develop project plans and budgets during the pre-construction phase.
- Work with Senior Project Manager on project development, including risk assessment and mitigation.
- Coordinate permitting, interconnection applications, and manage project schedules and procurement plans.
- Oversee day-to-day project operations during construction, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, foremen, and other project personnel.
- Track project costs, manage change orders, and provide regular progress reports.
- Resolve on-site construction issues and logistical challenges proactively.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations, and manage project dashboards, trackers, and schedules.
- Oversee system commissioning and performance testing during post-construction.
- Ensure project closeout and handover to clients, optimizing system performance and reliability.
- Maintain accurate project documentation.
Essential Skills
- 3-5+ years of experience managing solar construction projects, specifically within commercial solar projects.
- Experience in electrical construction, solar photovoltaic systems (PV), and project management.
- Ability to manage all phases including pre-construction, construction, and post-construction.
- Knowledge of industry-standard project management software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with technologies such as micro-grid, battery storage, SCADA, RFI, change orders, and engineering.
Work Environment
The candidate will be working on government sites across the Bay Area, managing various project sites. The main office is located in San Francisco, with approximately 25% travel across the Bay Area involved.
