🔧 Facilities Maintenance Technician
Keep Commercial Facilities Running at Their Best
Are you the type of person who can fix a leaky faucet, patch drywall, replace a light fixture, and troubleshoot building issues all before lunch? If so, we're looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support commercial properties across the Milpitas and East Bay area.
In this field-based role, you'll travel to customer sites in a company vehicle, perform a variety of maintenance tasks, and build strong relationships with clients by delivering exceptional service. No two days are exactly the same, making this a great opportunity for a hands-on professional who enjoys problem-solving and working independently.
What You'll Do
As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you'll be responsible for keeping buildings safe, functional, and looking their best.
Daily Responsibilities
✅ Travel to commercial customer locations throughout your assigned territory
✅ Complete preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance work orders
✅ Perform basic plumbing repairs, including:
- Toilets and urinals
- Faucets and valves
- Flush sensors and fixtures
✅ Handle minor electrical work (within non-licensed scope), including:
- Light fixtures
- Outlets and switches
- Ballasts, bulbs, and sockets
✅ Complete painting, drywall, and basic carpentry repairs, including:
- Wall patching
- Paint matching and touch-ups
- Door, wall, and flooring repairs
✅ Assist with basic HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting
✅ Conduct facility and asset inspections
✅ Document work orders, inspection reports, and photos using a tablet or smartphone
✅ Maintain strong customer relationships through professional communication and service
✅ Follow all safety procedures and participate in ongoing safety training
What We're Looking For
Must-Have Experience
- Commercial facilities maintenance experience
- Basic plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry skills
- General HVAC knowledge
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Experience completing preventive maintenance tasks
- Comfortable using tablets, smartphones, Microsoft Office, and Outlook
- Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to travel daily throughout the assigned territory
Bonus Points For
- Trade school, certification, or professional experience in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Landscaping, or a related trade
- Experience supporting banks, retail stores, office buildings, or other multi-site facilities
- Familiarity with facility inspections and asset management
- Experience preparing basic repair estimates

Work Environment

- Typical schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Leandro, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
