The Quality Technician performs routine to moderately complex inspections of aerospace parts, subassemblies, and finished products to ensure they meet engineering drawings, quality standards, and customer requirements. This role supports receiving, inprocess, and final inspections and operates under general supervision as a key member of the Quality team, contributing directly to product conformity and regulatory compliance in a fast-growing aerospace environment.
Responsibilities- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of aerospace parts, assemblies, and raw materials to verify conformance to specifications.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to conduct accurate measurements and assessments.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and inspection instructions to determine inspection criteria.
- Document inspection results clearly and maintain accurate, complete inspection records to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Identify nonconforming material, properly classify findings, and communicate issues promptly to Quality leadership and relevant stakeholders.
- Support receiving inspections, inprocess inspections, and final inspections to maintain consistent product quality throughout the manufacturing cycle.
- Follow established quality procedures, work instructions, and safety standards to uphold aerospace and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineers, Manufacturing, Production, and other crossfunctional teams to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement.
- Contribute to acceptance and rejection documentation to maintain adherence to aerospace quality standards and customer requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 25 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with basic inspection and measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Ability to perform handson visual and dimensional inspections using precision tools to verify product conformance.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and inspection requirements.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in inspection work and documentation.
- Effective organizational skills to manage inspection tasks, records, and priorities.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Experience in quality control and quality inspection within a production or manufacturing setting.
- Experience in aerospace or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and standards such as AS9100 or ISO.
- Prior experience performing receiving, inprocess, and final inspection processes.
- Ability to interpret blueprint schematics and apply GD&T concepts to inspection activities.
- Experience preparing and maintaining quality documentation, including inspection reports and acceptance/rejection records.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining traceability and compliance with aerospace quality standards.
- Interest in career advancement and leadership development within a fastscaling organization.
This position is based on the manufacturing floor within the Quality department and plays a key role in ensuring products meet customer, engineering, and regulatory requirements. The Quality Technician works closely with Quality Engineers, Manufacturing, Production, and other crossfunctional teams to support receiving, inprocess, and final inspections on critical aerospace hardware. The environment is dynamic and growthoriented, with the organization experiencing rapid expansion and securing major longterm aerospace programs. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Simi Valley, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
